by Paul Joseph September 3, 2011 Featured

The fear of approaching slowdown has once again begun to threaten the job seekers in India. Lay-offs and job cuts are major concerns for already employed in the private sector and their job security is always at stake when faced with such economic pressures. Government jobs in India are the most secure and offer maximum comfort along with several benefits for the family of a Government employee, while working and even after retirement. Henceforth, the Government jobs have always been the first favourite of the job seekers in India. Nevertheless, it is not possible for every individual to attain a Government job but not difficult as such. You have to appear in written exams for the various posts in the Central and State Governments and clear the test followed by interview to attain one of the best Government jobs associated with your genre. As you can appear in the written test for the clerical post in one of the nationalised banks of India after completing your 12 th itself and for the post of Probationary Officer/ Management Trainee after you are a graduate only. Recently, the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection(IBPS) announced to conduct a Common Written Exam for recruitment of Probationary Officers and Management Trainees in 19 Public Sector Banks in India. On the similar lines IBPS is now ready to conduct a CWE for recruitment of Clerks in 19 Public Sector Banks in India. The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamta Banerjee has come out with a new strategy to form an ‘employment bank’. She has proclaimed that all those students and youths who would offer voluntary services in cities and villages for two years will be enlisted in the ‘employment bank’ and they will be given jobs by the State Government, afterward. The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Kiran Kumar has also announced on the eve of the Independence Day to create around 15 lakh jobs for youth in different sectors of the economy under the Rajiv Education and Employment Mission in the next three years and the State Government will also be providing 1 lakh jobs to deserving candidates in a short while. There are nearly 70,000 posts vacant in the Ministries and various departments of Governments. Punjab National Bank is also planning to hire 9000 employees this year itself. With stressful life and ever ranging competition Government jobs offer a guarded future to an employee and his/ her family primarily. Though it is not easy to win this rat-race, but one needs to strive hard for it , as where there’s a will, there’s a way.
